Below are some images that Tom and I have taken on previous trips to Mythical Meath.

Mythical Meath

Welcome to 2010. To start us off this year we are offering a two day course which will explore Mythical Meath. It will take place on the weekend of the 10th and 11th of April. We have decided to hold it on a weekend to accommodate people who are working. We are hoping to sign up to 10 people. The course will be given by Tom and I, so we will be available at all times on both days.

It is important to note at this point that our philosophy is about achieving results. We are not about the technology but more about the practical. We appreciate that technology has a valid place within the photographic spectrum but we will be concentrating on the methods that will enable you to achieve results time after time. We will, over the duration of the course teach you how to work a location until you have explored a number of shooting options to ensure that, no matter what the weather, you will achieve results. It is a course that will be most suited to beginners or those with limited photographic ability. Tom's vast experience of shooting in Ireland will ensure that you will experience locations that are not ' the norm ' and that provide you with an alternative perspective of this most interesting of counties.

Below is an Itinerary which may be altered depending on the weather. We will begin both days at Trim castle where you will be met by Tom and I. This is a very basic outline of our movements because we will very much move with the weather and the light in the way that a dedicated landscape photographer might work. If you like roughing it a little and you want results then you will have a ball. There is nothing more invigorating than being in the wilds surrounded by beautiful landscape waiting with your camera to capture that one moment that will change how you see the world for ever. We will teach you how to prepare for that moment.

DAY 1 :

9.30 am . Meet at Trim Castle.

We will explore the town and areas around the town, searching for the myth of the knight and lady and other sites which will provide some wonderful photo opportunities.

We will then stop for lunch and afterwards head towards Tara and Skryne taking in Bective Abbey along the way.

DAY 2 :

9.30 am . Meet at Trim Castle.

Today we will head out of Trim and towards Lough Crew. We will pass through Kells en route to the town of Old Castle and Virginia.

Our aim is to make best use of the light which will determine our finish time but on the second day this time may be dictated by peoples travel arrangements.

At the end of both days you will be dropped back to Trim Castle. If you are travelling to Trim you will have to make your own accommodation arrangements.

Your fee to ImageIreland will be €150 per person per day. This will include Tuition and travel expenses around the locations on both days.

If you are interested in signing up for this course please go to our booking calendar to book your dates or if you would like to chat with us before signing up you can contact Stephen at info@imageireland.org.
